PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University Environmental Health and Safety reports that a white powder found Thursday (Nov. 8) on packages delivered to WSU tested negative for anthrax.
Bacterial isolation and growth cultures of the white powder submitted to the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory on Nov. 8 are negative, showing no evidence of anthrax contamination, according to Dr. Lindsay Oakes, assistant professor of veterinary microbiology.
Staff at Central Receiving and Student Mail Services saw several packages dusted with white powder following a Thursday morning delivery. EH&S staff took samples from the packages to WADDL for analysis.
