PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Board of Regents will meet at 9 a.m. on July 12 at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle. The agenda includes budget issues and the creation or modification of several degree programs.
Items to be considered for approval include fiscal year 2001 budget allocations and the operating and capital budget requests to the Washington Legislature for fiscal years 2001-03.
If approved by the regents, WSU will request funding for facilities improvements and additions. The budget request would also include faculty salary increases and two new technology initiatives.
The regents will be asked to approve the addition of several degree programs to WSU’s distance education and branch campus offerings.
A bachelor of arts in education degree is proposed for the Northwest Indian College. A similar degree would be offered for the Collaborative Teacher Education Program and Bilingual/ESL Teacher Education programs at Centralia, Lower Columbia and Clark Colleges.
The regents will also consider the establishment of a new master of science in agriculture degree and a masters in teaching program at the Pullman campus.
