WSU ‘Cougar Pride Day’ Activities Set Friday and Saturday in Pasco, Richland

TRI-CITIES, Wash.Washington State University Tri-Cities joins with other WSU locations across the state April 22 and 23 to celebrate the university’s history of community service during Cougar Pride Days.

Two events Friday (April 22) will find students, faculty and staff joining together to make a difference in both Pasco and Richland.

At 9 a.m., a cleanup day at Dust Devil Stadium in Pasco begins. Volunteers are expected to be working at the stadium through late morning. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., another volunteer crew will perform spring yard maintenance at a private home of a wheelchair-bound resident in Richland. The property is located at 1735 Davidson.

On Saturday (April 23), a cleanup day will be held on WSU Tri-Cities “Adopt-a-Highway” section of Highway 240, near Horn Rapids Dam.

 

Cougar Pride Days has its historic roots in Campus Days, an early tradition of WSU that included improving the appearance of the then-young campus and creating school spirit.

Editor’s Note: It is expected that work at Dust Devil Stadium will last only until about 10:30 a.m.. Work at the Richland residence is scheduled to run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., but may end earlier. The on-site contact at either location is Jerry Massey, (509) 372-7213
