TRI-CITIES, Wash. — “Terror in Context: Response” is the topic of a Wednesday noontime forum Oct. 17 on the continuing implications of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.
Three Washington State University Tri-Cities professors will lead the brown bag discussion session at the north Richland campus. More than 125 people attended last month’s session.
The program is set for noon-1 p.m. in the East Auditorium.
Hosting the session are faculty members Akram Hossain of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Brigit Farley from the Department of History and David Sonnenfeld of the Department of Sociology.
“Our first open discussion provided a way people from the community and the university to join a dialogue on the events of the last month, and they did,” said Sonnenfeld, one of the forum’s organizers. “Some of the faculty have continued discussions of these issues in class and, while we don’t pretend to have definitive answers, we hope the forums can be a way for people to explore these events that impact all of us,” he said.
