PULLMAN, Wash. — A Website concerning tuition for the 2005-07 biennium has been created to provide information and gather comments about the tuition plan, scheduled to be considered by the Washington State University Board of Regents at its May 6 meeting.
In the just-completed legislative session, the Washington State Legislature approved annual 7 percent increases in tuition rates in each of the next two years for
The Web site — http://www.regents.wsu.edu/tuition/ — provides information about the tuition proposals in various categories. While rates for both resident and non-resident undergraduates will be raised 7 percent and tuition rates for resident and non-resident graduate students will go up 5 percent, rate increases for various professional programs can vary based on the costs of those programs.
The Web site also provides a link allowing visitors to offer e-mail comments on the tuition plan. Comments will be shared with the regents before they make their decision on tuition.
The regents had originally hoped to hold a public hearing on the tuition plan earlier this month to allow comments, but the state budget process had not advanced far enough at that time to make such a meeting worthwhile.
