Yasinitsky Composes Work for Lincoln Middle School Dedication

PULLMAN, Wash. — Greg Yasinitsky, faculty member in the Washington State University School of Music and Theatre Arts, has composed a special work for the May 4 Dedication of the Lincoln Middle School Reconstruction Project.

The piece, “For the Uncommon Good,” will be performed by the combined forces of the LMS Orchestra and Concert Band under the direction of Katharine and Joe Covill at the 10 a.m. dedication ceremony in the Commons Area at Lincoln Middle School.

Yasinitsky composed this new piece as part of his duties as Composer in Residence at LMS. The residency is funded by The Commission Project of New York, a national organization which places composers in public schools.

Also, Yasinitsky is the recipient of the 2005 Edward R. Meyer Distinguished Professorship Award and received a WSU College of Liberal Arts 2004-05 Faculty Distinguished Achievement Award from WSU.
