‘Campus on the Run’ Raises Money for Whitman County Humane Society

PULLMAN, Wash. — More than 400 campus and community members participated in the 8th Annual ‘Campus on the Run’ 5K on Saturday (March 26), raising $1,000 for the Whitman County Humane Society Spay/Neuter Action Project.

SNAP is a program that provides vouchers to low-income individuals and families to help pay for spay and neuter surgeries at local veterinarian clinics. The program is part of an effort to help reduce the unwanted-pet population in Whitman County, which often leads to euthanasia.

WSU Health and Wellness Services, the Community Service Learning Center and University Recreation co-sponsored the event.

The overall winner of the 3.1-mile race was Nate Kaiser in the men’s 25-34 age division with a time of 16:44. Intramural championship T-shirts were awarded to the winners of each division.

Race results and pictures are posted on the Campus on the Run Web site at https://www.hws.wsu.edu/funrun.
