Nuts vs. Guts: Theatre Sports Hits Pullman

PULLMAN, Wash. — A pair of improvisational groups, Washington State University’s “Nuthouse” and Gonzaga University’s “Guts,” will go head to head in a battle of wits Saturday (Nov. 1) in Pullman.

The two teams will compete in a theatre sports format at 8 p.m. in Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre. Judges will score the improvised comedy scenes.

The shows are live, interactive, in-your-face comedy shows with no scripts involved. The actors make up everything based on audience suggestions.

The shows are not for children due to occasional mature subject matter.

Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased at the door beginning at 7 p.m. the night of each show or reserved by calling (509) 335-1237 before 6 p.m. on the night of the desired show. STAGE recommends getting to the show early, as tickets go quickly.

Nuthouse also will have its special Halloween show this Friday (Oct. 31) at 8 p.m. in Wadleigh Theatre.

Nuthouse is in its sixth year with WSU Theatre’s undergraduate group, STAGE. Guts is in its 17th year at Gonzaga and is the oldest improv group in Spokane.
