PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Office of Campus Involvement will present a pair of public events May 26-27.
WSU student and guitarist Ryan Laughlin, whose sound reflects the music of Howie Day, John Mayer, Jars of Clary and Dave Matthews, will play guitar on Glenn Terrell Mall from noon to 1 p.m. May 26.
Laughlin, a business major at WSU, is an aspiring young artist who started playing the guitar just three years ago. He has performed in Pullman at the Daily Grind, Café Moro and at a number of Up All Night events on the WSU campus.
Laughlin will play original songs he has written along with a few cover songs. In case of rain, the event will move to the Compton Union Building Lair. University Catering will sell food.
On May 27, the 2003 drama “21 Grams” will be shown in the CUB auditorium. Show times are 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is free.
Sean Penn, Naomi Watts and Benicio Del Toro star in this movie that brings the lives of a man in need of a heart transplant, a former drug abuser and an ex-con and religious fanatic into each other’s orbit. The film plays on themes such as the examination of guilt and the hope and possibility of redemption. The movie is rated R.
