PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University recognized alumnus William R. Graber, senior vice president and chief financial officer of McKesson Corp., with its 2003 College of Sciences Distinguished Alumnus Award.
After graduating from WSU with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1965, Graber began his career with General Electric Co. where he remained until 1991. He worked for Mead Corp. from 1991-99 and joined McKesson Corp. in 2000, where he serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Graber and his wife, Mary Lynn, have often noted that WSU and its mathematics department played a major role in providing the foundation for their successes. The couple has generously given back to the university by creating a mathematics endowment so others can have the same opportunity Graber had as a student, one nominator said.
He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, serves on the board of directors for Genesis Worldwide, Inc., and is a trustee of the WSU Foundation.
