SPOKANE, Wash. — As the spring semester at Washington State University Spokane comes to an end, busy students are making time to participate in a campus tradition – Cougar Pride Days — by cleaning up a section of the Spokane Centennial Trail on April 9.
“Students chose to clean along the Spokane River bank that parallels the Riverpoint campus because they wanted to do their part in taking care of community resources that both students and the community use,” said Barbara Chamberlain, director of communications and public affairs for WSU Spokane.
“I think that events such as Cougar Pride Days are important so that we can do something for the community that we are part of, as well as to let everyone know how proud we are to be Cougars here in Spokane,” said Darci Rohrbach, president of the Associated Students of WSU Spokane.
WSU Spokane students will begin cleaning at the Division Street bridge and work east on the trail, toward the Riverpoint campus.
Cougar Pride Days is a time when students, faculty and staff members show pride in the university through their participation in campus beautification and cleanup projects, and faculty and staff recognition events.
