PULLMAN, Wash. — Members of Washington State University’s undergraduate theatre group STAGE are putting the final touches on its spring mainstage show, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
The show, by Dale Wasserman, is set to run April 9-12 in Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre. All shows begin at 8:00 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday, April 12.
“One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is run entirely by students, from actors to technicians to its director,” said Brian MacMillan, public relations director for STAGE.
The comedic drama features Randall P. McMurphy, a new admission to the mental institution that brings life, laughter and disobedience to the ward, said Jake Nonis, WSU senior and STAGE director. The character is ultimately caught in a tug-of-war for control with Nurse Ratched, who runs the institution. The stakes rise from TV time and a carnival to life and freedom. Sparks fly as McMurphy succeeds in his quest to help his buddies, he said.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $4 for students, and can be purchased at the STAGE Box Office, (509) 335-1237, from noon-3 p.m. and 7 p.m. the night of the performances.
