VANCOUVER, Wash. — The effects of industry, agriculture, recreation, utilities and transportation on the Columbia River and its watershed is the topic of a public forum hosted by Washington State University Vancouver and the League of Women Voters of Clark County on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
“Columbia River and Its Watershed: A Public Forum” features a series of panel presentations in WSU Vancouver’s Student Services building lecture hall.
A welcome and introduction begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the first panel on “Land Use and the Columbia River” at 9 a.m. Speakers include representatives from WSU Cooperative Extension, Clark County Community Development and Clark County Environmental Services Agency.
At 10:30 a.m. speakers from Fish First, the Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association, Save Our Wild Salmon and Trout Unlimited will sit on a “Fish and the Columbia River” panel.
The last panel, titled “Forests and the Columbia River,” begins at noon and features speakers from the Audubon Society, Gifford Pinchot Task Force, the Water Resources Center and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
