WSU Faculty Member Chosen For Seattle Poetry Reading At Frye Art Museum

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Leonard Orr, professor of English and coordinator of the liberal arts programs at Washington State University Tri–Cities, has been chosen to participate in the PoetsWest Reading Series in Seattle Sept. 1.

Reading three of his poems, Orr will appear with a trio of other poets at the Frye Art Museum. The museum presentation begins at 2 p.m.

A member of the WSU Tri–Cities faculty since 1991, Orr has written extensively on poets William Butler Yates, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and James Joyce, and has published more than 30 reviews of scholarly books.

His poetry and short fiction has been published in literary magazines such as Canadian Jewish Outlook, Voices International and New Writers.

In 1991, Orr was the recipient of the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Award for Poetry of the Jewish Experience.
