Campus on the Run Raises Money for the Community

PULLMAN, Wash. — Some 282 Washington State University students, staff and faculty participated in the Fifth Annual Campus on the Run Saturday (April 6) that raised $1,000 for the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute.

WSU Health and Wellness Services Wellness Programs, Community Service Learning Center and Intramural Sports organized the run, and proceeds will be used to plant a Sept. 11 Memorial Grove of native trees and shrubs along Paradise Creek on Chipman Trail.

The overall winner of the 3.1mile race, for the second year in a row, was WSU graduate student Ronn Smith with a time of 15 minutes, 49 seconds.

Intramural championship t-shirts were awarded to the winners of each division. WSU student Erick Supplee won a $30 gift certificate from Varsity Sportswear in a free drawing after the race. More drawing prizes were given to participants before the race.
