WSU Press Spring Cleaning Sale Set for April 17

PULLMAN, Wash. — In preparation for their annual Spring Cleaning Sale, the Washington State University Press staff is clearing the Press warehouse of damaged and overstock books. Hundreds of books about Northwest and western history, people and politics, as well as art, poetry and ethnic studies, will be available at the sale, set for 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, April 17.
Slightly damaged books, including the 1994 bestseller “Fields of Toil: A Migrant Family’s Journey,” Bill Hall’s comic “Frank Church, D.C., & Me,” and Ladd Hamilton’s “This Bloody Deed,” to name only a few, will be on sale for savings of up to 70 percent off their original prices.
A new element of this year’s sale will be a selection of overstock books available for as little as $1 to $3 each. Among these overstock titles are “Deep Down Things: Poems of the Inland Pacific Northwest”; “Built in Washington: 12,000 Years of Pacific Northwest Archaeological Sites and Historic Buildings”; and the 1991 Governor’s Writers Award winner, “Peoples of Washington: Perspectives on Cultural Diversity.”
The April 17 sale will be held at the WSU Press offices in the Cooper Publications Building on Grimes Way on the WSU campus. A limited number of parking spaces will be reserved for sale customers in the Blue Lot across the street from Cooper Publications building. All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis, and quantities on some titles are limited. No telephone orders will be taken until noon on the day of the sale.
