Famed Duo to Present Jazz Clinic at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — Renowned jazz musicians David Friesen, bassist, and guitarist Uwe Kropinski will offer a clinic at Washington State University from 12:10- 2 p.m., Oct. 3, in Kimbrough Music Building.

Thomastik-Infeld string company will fund the free, public clinic.

Friesen is recognized worldwide for his dazzling solo concerts. He has performed and recorded with many of the greatest figures in jazz including Joe Henderson, Stan Getz, Clark Terry and Dexter Gordon.

Kropinski was born in Berlin and before the collapse of communism, he regularly performed with the finest players in eastern Europe. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, he tours throughout Europe, has recorded numerous CDs and often performs and presents clinics with Friesen.
