Washington State University Offers Aviation Camp For Grades 8 and 9

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Washington State University Tri-Cities has announced a new summer camp experience for students in grades 8 and 9.

“In The Air” is a three-week afternoon summer camp that lets students explore and experience the world of aviation while sharpening math skills.

The camp, which begins July 29, will feature a full-day field trip to the Museum of Flight in Seattle and a day at Central Washington University’s Flight Technology program in Ellensburg.

Students will design and fabricate airplanes to test aerodynamics and explore navigation techniques as they map a cross-country flight plan.

Except for the field trips, the camp runs 12:30 – 3 p.m. weekdays, from July 29 through Aug. 16. An early registration discount is available.

Contact Karen Davis at the WSU campus, (509) 372-7606, for more information.
