Eligible faculty and administrative professional employees across the Washington State University system will receive salary increases effective Oct. 1.

The 2026 salary-increase allocation is 1% for eligible employees in both groups. The increases will be processed centrally in Workday in early to mid-October and included in employees’ Oct. 26 paychecks.

Faculty

Faculty salary increases will be merit-based, with eligibility determined in part by annual reviews. Faculty members generally must have received a rating of satisfactory or higher based on established review criteria.

The merit review and approval process began in late August and will continue through September. Approved increases will be entered in Workday in October with an effective date of Oct. 1.

Additional eligibility requirements and exceptions may apply depending on appointment type, full-time equivalency, and individual circumstances.

Administrative professionals

Eligible administrative professional employees will also receive a 1% salary increase effective Oct. 1.

In general, employees must have been hired on or before Dec. 31, 2025, meet applicable appointment and FTE requirements, and satisfy any other eligibility criteria associated with their employment group.

Employees who have recently been hired or experienced a promotion, position change, leave, retirement transition or other change in employment circumstances should consult the university’s eligibility guidance and frequently asked questions.
