Nominations are open for the GIESO Faculty/Staff Distinguished Achievement Award

The President’s Commission for Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) would like to celebrate and honor excellence supporting the LGBTQIA2S+ community at WSU. Beginning Jan. 5, GIESO will be soliciting nominations for exceptional faculty, staff, or administrators who have provided exemplary contributions to the LGBTQIA2S+ community by making the university a more inclusive place for all. This award demonstrates the institution’s commitment to fostering a more welcoming campus culture and climate and shows all people, including members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, that they are a seen, valued, and vibrant part of the WSU community. We invite you to submit a nomination using this nomination form by Feb. 28 so that we can honor and celebrate this outstanding individual. Nominations will be reviewed in March, and the recipient will be announced in early April. We will also recognize the recipient of this award during the GIESO Spring Celebration in April 2026. For questions or media inquiries, contact president.gieso@wsu.edu.
