Join the Office of Research in celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Researchers at WSU will discuss ongoing projects, how you can participate, and where to find support. Each faculty member will present a 5-minute flash talk with a Q&A discussion to follow.
The panel includes:
- Josie Cohen-Rodriguez, LGBTQ+ Center Student Life & Community Coordinator (Pullman) and PhD student in English with a focus on Literary Studies. Her research explores place-based archives, queer of color epistemologies, cultural reproduction, aesthetics, genre, and transnational critique. She works at the WSU LGBTQ+ Center, where she writes zines with students, supports programming and equity initiatives, and facilitates community engagement with the WSU Queer Archives.
- Lotus Norton-Wisla, Interim Head of Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections (Pullman campus). Research topics include: QSU Queer Archive, LGBTQ+ archives, and collaborations
- Traci Gillig, Assistant Professor in Strategic Communications (Pullman). Dr. Gillig’s research interests are in the psychological, social, and structural factors influencing the mental health of youth from marginalized groups, particularly LGBTQ+ youth. She is also interested in the effects of gender-related messaging on the attitudes and behaviors of adolescents and others
