Okta authentication for Jira and Confluence to start June 24

Information Technology Services (ITS) will implement Okta authentication for both Jira and Confluence applications, replacing the current Jira SAML authentication method. This change will occur during the services’ regularly scheduled maintenance window of 8 p.m. on Friday, June 23, to midnight on Saturday, June 24.

Users can expect to be presented with an Okta network authentication window and complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) during the login step when accessing Jira and Confluence applications beginning June 24. This change is expected to have minimal impact on users and has successfully undergone testing in the Jira and Confluence test environments.

If there are any questions or concerns regarding this upcoming change, please contact Crimson Service Desk at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu or 509‑335‑4357.
