He is a recipient of the Reid Miller Excellence in Teaching Award and President’s Distinguished Teaching awards. He also has received the school’s outstanding teaching award five times.

Peschel served as the program head of construction management for a decade and holds the Richard L. Silliman Distinguished Professorship in Estimating. He has been serving as interim school director since last year.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State College. Peschel replaces Ryan Smith, who took a position at University of Arizona.

“Jason’s dedication to his students, staff, and faculty within SDC is exemplary,” said Mary Rezac, dean of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture. “He has displayed effective leadership during his service as interim SDC director, and I look forward to continuing our work together on the important matters that will further lead to SDC’s and Voiland College’s success. I am confident he will continue to build on the school’s reputation for excellence.”
