The WSU Sensory Science Center is recruiting adults over the age of 60 to join an evaluation of ready-to-eat meals for older adults.
When:
April 9, 10, 14, and 21
What:
We are looking for volunteers to join our home-use test and evaluate the acceptance of different sensory characteristics (aroma, taste, texture, saltiness, flavor) of multiple ready-to-eat meals.
You must be at least 60 years of age or older and living independently or unassisted. You are required to attend two in‑person sessions (total 2 hours of time) over two days. Following this, you will complete the sensory evaluation of the meals on multiple days from your home. The test will take about 30–45 minutes of your time per day.
If you would like to participate in this study, Please contact Olivia Chaffee at olivia.chaffee@wsu.edu. You will then be sent instructions for signing up for the study screener. If qualified, this screener will direct you to a schedule to sign up for the initial session. Scheduling for pick‑up/drop‑off of the meals will take place after the initial session.
Participation in the entire study (initial session and 3‑day home-use-test) will be compensated with a $25 gift card to Walmart. Participation in only the initial session will be compensated with a $5 gift card to Ferdinand’s.
