Regents Approve Budget for Spokane Expansion

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University regents approved today an operational budget
request for the 1999-2001 biennium to add and enhance academic programs in Spokane.
Requested is $5.7 million to establish a Health Sciences Consortium with other universities for teaching,

offered by other institutions, and to expand enrollments in existing design and pharmacy programs. The
funding level would support an additional 205 students at WSU Spokane.
Regents also approved the purchase of a $1.4 million nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer for scientific
