Todd Vanek, director of WSU’s Engineering and Technology Management (ETM) program, has been named president of the Council of Engineering Management Academic Leaders (CEMAL).
The council serves as an advisory board to the American Society of Engineering Management, promoting interest and coordinating communication among engineering management academic programs in the U.S.
Vanek has held leadership positions in the U.S. Navy, private manufacturing and retail, and local government, including serving as mayor of Colfax, Washington. He has a background in learning with expertise in the areas of program management and evaluation, customer support, process improvement, data collection and reporting, and program assessment. His background in education includes serving as a U.S. Navy instructor and master training specialist, work in curriculum development, program evaluation, and teaching in early childhood and K-12 education, undergraduate and graduate education, and corporate training in process improvement. He joined WSU’s ETM program in 2018.
Vanek holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Norfolk State University and a PhD in education psychology from WSU.
