PULLMAN, Wash. — Pullman area residents will “Take Back the Night” Thursday to draw attention
to the problem of violence against women.
The 13th annual “Take Back the Night” rally and march will begin at Washington State University’s
Compton Union Building Auditorium with an 8 p.m. address by Jeanette Mauro-Cochrane, author of “Self
Respect and Sexual Assault.” A march will follow at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Mauro-Cochrane presents lectures and workshops throughout the country designed to empower
women to defend themselves against sexual aggression.
“There is no tolerance for violence in our community,” said Kathy Zeches, the Women’s Resource
Center interim director. “We encourage everyone in the community to join the marchers and ‘Take Back the
Night.'”
