PULLMAN, Wash. — More than 50 companies from around the nation will send representatives to meet with job-seekers and students at the Eighth Annual Business Career Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Compton Union Building Ballroom on the Washington State University campus.
The public fair is for students in all disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and is sponsored by the MBA Association, a graduate student club within the WSU College of Business and Economics.
Companies slated to be at the event include Andersen Consulting, Boeing, Coldwater Creek, E & J Gallo Winery, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., Microsoft, PEMCO, Pepsi, Seafirst Bankcard Services, Sherwin Williams Co., Target and Toys “R” Us. Others are The Bon Marche, the City of Spokane, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Norwest Financial, the Idaho Department of Labor and Pacific Simulation, Inc.

A career fair preparation workshop is planned for 9-11 a.m., Oct. 30th, in Todd Hall, Room 276. “The workshop is an excellent way to learn more about the attending companies and how to present yourself to those companies in the best manner,” says Val Miskin, CBE graduate programs director. “You won’t want to miss either of these two events if you are interested in improving your placement opportunities.”
The fair this year is expected to be larger than the 1997 event, when 44 companies traveled to Pullman to meet and talk to job-seekers. And this year, as in years past, several companies will meet students at their fair booths, then schedule and conduct interviews through the WSU Career Services Office in the days following the event.
