Concerned about risks from the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Academic Showcase organizers have made several changes to this year’s event, including postponing the Distinguished Faculty Address and Celebrating Excellence Banquet until the fall.

The poster sessions have been cancelled, including Academic Showcase, Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA). In a letter to participants on March 11, Showcase committee chairs Mary Sánchez Lanier and Yini Chen said they were exploring alternate formats to share research and creative work from the WSU community.

Crimson Reads has also been cancelled.

The State of the University Address will be delivered exclusively in an online format. The Three-Minute Thesis competition will also be conducted online.

The Distinguished Faculty Address, Celebrating Excellence Banquet and Emeritus Society Legacy of Excellence Lecture have been postponed until the fall.
