The Washington State University’s Women’s Soccer Team is making its first ever trip to the College Cup after taking down No. 5 South Carolina Sunday in Columbia.

The winningest team in WSU women’s soccer history heads into Friday’s College Cup game against top-seeded North Carolina with a 16-6-1 record. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose. Fans unable to make the trip can watch the game on ESPNU.

The winner of the semifinal game will compete against the winner of Stanford and UCLA in the tournament’s championship game on Dec. 8.

The WSU team’s road to the tournament’s semifinals included hard-fought victories against ranked opponents.

The Cougars claimed victory against No. 14 Memphis to open NCAA Tournament play on Nov. 15 before pulling an upset over No. 3 Virginia the following week and a subsequent 3-0 win over West Virginia. Sunday’s 1-0 overtime victory over the Gamecocks extended the team’s win streak to four games.
