Kunter Gunasti, assistant professor of marketing in the Carson College of Business, has been named a 2019 Emerald Literati Award winner for a research paper he co‑authored on consumer preferences for copycat brands.
His paper, “Original Brands in Competition Against High Quality Copycats,” earned the distinction of a Highly Commended Paper at this year’s Awards of Excellence, sponsored by Emerald Publishing.
“It is an honor to receive the 2019 Emerald Literati Award for a Highly Commended Paper,” said Gunasti. “I feel excited to have my research recognized at this level. I am really looking forward to the positive effects of this acknowledgement on the dissemination and impact of my work.”
For more than 25 years, the Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence “celebrate and reward the outstanding contributions made by Emerald’s scholarly community, according to an Emerald Publishing press release.
“Original Brands in Competition Against High Quality Copycats” was published in the European Journal of Marketing. Gunasti co‑authored the paper with Hang Nguyen, associate professor of marketing at Michigan State University.
