PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Health and Wellness
Services has again met nationally recognized standards for quality health care
set by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. Health
and Wellness Services is one of only two nationally accredited university
health services in Washington state and the only accredited health care clinic
on the Palouse.
“We’re pleased and proud to have achieved re-accreditation,” said Dr. Bruce
Wright, HWS director. “We think accreditation is very important and it has
helped us to further improve the quality of care we provide to students. I
would like to thank the entire staff for its work in providing high-quality health
services to the students at WSU.”
To achieve accreditation, HWS underwent an extensive on-site survey of its
facilities, services and business practices. HWS achieved a 100 percent mark,
the highest rating of substantial compliance in all survey requirements, and
was awarded the maximum three-year AAAHC accreditation.
AAAHC is a private, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization.
Nationally, it has accredited more than 1000 ambulatory health care
organizations including single and multi-specialty group practices, ambulatory
and office-based surgery centers, college and university health services,
health maintenance organizations and other managed-care systems, dental
group practices, community health centers, and occupational health centers.
