Lighting upgrade at the SRC: Intermittent closures

In partnership with the state of Washington and McKinstry, the Student Recreation Center will be retrofitting the gymnasium of natatorium lighting to new, highly efficient LED lights.

Upon completion of the project, the SRC will see an approximate reduction of electrical consumption by 6%, increased lighting quality, and longer lasting light fixtures. This project will not only have positive environmental impacts but should improve the quality of the user experience. This retrofit project will begin in early May and last approximately 5 weeks.

During this time the Student Recreation Center will remain open for use but there will be intermittent closures of pool, gymnasium, jogging track and climbing wall. If you plan to utilize these spaces during your visit to the SRC please check the UREC website for the most up-to-date impacts of the work.

We appreciate your patience during this time as we strive to make our facilities more sustainable.
