A screening of “The Destruction of Memory” and an accompanying panel discussion will take place from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center.
The film, based on the book by the same name by Robert Bevan, takes on the complex story behind cultural destruction around the world. Specifically, the film examines examples from World War II, the former Yugoslavia, Mali and Syria.
After the screening of the film, which has a run time of 1 hour and 21 minutes, there will be a panel discussion, featuring Tim Slade, the film’s director, along with faculty members from the WSU architecture, English and history departments.
This event is free and open to the public.
