Attention WSU benefit-eligible employees who pay commuting and parking expenses to non-WSU transportation services or participate in a vanpool.
Washington State University recognizes that our employees live and work all over the state, country, and even world. For employees who live in the U.S. and currently pay their commuting costs to a non-WSU source, you will now have the option to do so on a pre-tax basis. WSU has partnered with WageWorks to offer pre-tax accounts that can be used to pay for public transit expenses – including train, subway, bus, ferry, eligible vanpool, and qualified non-WSU parking as part of your daily commute to work.
For employees who already have their parking expenses deducted from their paychecks, or are able to ride public transit at no cost by showing their WSU ID, this benefit is NOT for you. You will continue to purchase your pass from your WSU Transportation Services offices, and access to public transit will not change. For information on current pre-tax parking programs visit your WSU Campus’ Transportation/Parking Services website.
This benefit is not for WSU Pullman employees, except for individuals who participate in a vanpool.
