PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University welcomes the WSU community across the state and around the globe to participate in #CougsGive, the university’s second annual day of giving, beginning Monday, Feb. 29.

“We challenge Cougs everywhere to take the leap this Leap Day with a gift to make a real difference for the people and communities this remarkable university serves,” said Tyrell Warren-Burnett, director of annual giving for the WSU Foundation and organizer of #CougsGive.

DateDuring WSU’s inaugural event in March 2015, more than 1,000 supporters contributed $314,000 to benefit 29 different areas universitywide.

For 48 hours beginning at midnight on Leap Day, donors may give to benefit WSU’s academic, research and service efforts that mean the most to them. The goal is to surpass $400,000.

First-day activities at noon on the Terrell mall at WSU Pullman will include free food and beverages, a DJ, t-shirt giveaway, photo booth and an inflatable obstacle course.

To follow the progress of #CougsGive, “like” the WSU Foundation on Facebook and follow on Twitter at #CougsGive.

“We were blown away by the participation and energy from throughout Cougar Nation last year, so we are raising the bar and making #CougsGive an annual WSU tradition,” said Warren-Burnett.
