PULLMAN, Wash. — Tickets are on sale now for two reggae musical groups, Boom Shaka and Natty Nation, set to perform Nov. 10 at Washington State University’s Beasley Coliseum. The 8 p.m. concert is part of the Fall Reggae Extravaganza sponsored by the Associated Students of WSU’s Entertainment Committee.
Boom Shaka, which has been described as Los Angeles’ best-kept secret, will play various tracks from its new album, “Rebel Lion.” The group’s music reflects a combination of hip-hop influences and a long-time dedication to classic reggae.
Natty Nation will also bring its original reggae musical style to the WSU campus. The band is known for its blend of reggae roots with a hard-rock edge, resulting in a “Bob Marley meets Jimmy Hendrix” sound.
“Our focus this year was to make the musical programming more culturally diverse,” said Heather Andersen, co-chair of ASWSU Entertainment. “We have had few reggae performers in the past, so we are really excited to have these popular groups coming to WSU.”
