Teaching online? New way to get virtual mentor

WSU Global Campus has a new process for requesting a Virtual Mentor in fall 2015 online course spaces. Here’s how it works:

Sign in to Blackboard Learn at learn.wsu.edu

  1. Within My Courses, select the Course Verification link for your course
  2. Select the Virtual Mentors tab
  3. Select Request Virtual Mentor (if you’re not interested, ignore the tab)
  4. For tech problems, contact Technical Support at support@wsu.edu or 509-335-4320

VMs will be assigned to courses as requests are received. The popularity of this program has grown tremendously over the last few years, so please don’t delay.

For those unfamiliar with the program, a VM is typically a WSU Global Campus senior or graduate who assists with minor non-content-related issues, freeing up the instructor to teach. This is especially beneficial to instructors who are new to teaching Global Campus courses, have large enrollment courses, or blended courses.

For more information, contact Margy Fotopoulos at 509-335-9261 or fotopoulos@wsu.edu.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it.
