Frontier Billing Issues

To all WSU Pullman campus telephone customers:

Frontier replaced Sprint on October 11, 2014 as the primary provider of long distance telephone service.  In addition to the technical call quality issues that many of us have experienced, Information Technology Services (ITS) has also found billing issues with Frontier.  ITS believes that departments have been incorrectly charged for telephone tolls, taxes and fees.

ITS is working to correct these telephone billing errors.  In the short term, we will suspend billing for these services on the monthly ITS online statements.  The January 2015 ITS online statement will credit the telephone charges for the service from October 11, 2014 through December 22, 2014.

Moving forward, ITS will continue to work with Frontier to resolve the billing issues.  Upon successful resolution, the next monthly ITS online statement—currently projected to be February 2015—and subsequent months will bill at corrected rates retroactive from October 11, 2014 through February 2015. If the Frontier billing issues are not solved in February, ITS will update this group regularly until a successful resolution is reached.

At this time the final effect of this correction on individual customers is not known.  Also, during this period of making corrections, all other ITS charges—including those for calling card, switched access, and toll-free telephone services—will continue to post on the monthly ITS online statements.

We understand that this is an inconvenience and a frustration, and we appreciate your patience while we work through these billing issues.
