WSU Police Arrest Three on Drug Charges

PULLMAN, Wash. — A Washington State University police investigation has led to the
arrest of three students allegedly involved in a marijuana growing operation.
WSU police say they arrested Christopher Ellifritz, 23, after he was observed watering
marijuana plants on university property near the swine barns. The arrest occurred on Tuesday,
July 27, at about 7 a.m.
As a result of this arrest, search warrants were obtained for Ellifritz’s vehicle and residence
on Howard Street in Pullman where they seized approximately 180-200 grams of packaged
marijuana. They also took psilocybin mushrooms, a substance suspected to be cocaine,
approximately $3,000 in cash, records and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The Pullman Police Department assisted with the execution of the warrant.
Ellifritz faces charges of manufacture of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and
felony possession of marijuana, cocaine and psilocybin.
Two other individuals, Timothy Kerns, 21, and Hans Juhl, 22, were also arrested as a result
of this investigation.
Kerns, who also lives at the Howard Street address, has been arrested for possession of
marijuana and paraphernalia.
Juhl, a resident of Pullman, was arrested for conspiracy to manufacture a controlled
substance.
The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
