WSU Police Department Reports Student Death

PULLMAN, Wash. — A Washington State University student, Cory Weed, 27, of Lewiston,
Idaho, was found dead in his room at McEachern (Residence) Hall on the WSU campus at 11:20
p.m. Friday (Sept. 10).
WSU police were called to check on Weed when other hall residents became concerned they
hadn’t seen the student for some time. Officers who found Weed in his room report there was no
evidence of foul play.
Whitman County Coroner Peter Martin was called to the scene and reported the exact cause
of death will not be known until an autopsy can be completed. Martin stated there was no reason
to believe that the cause of death was suspicious.
Martin’s report is not expected for several days.
