News Briefing at Pullman: Teacher Preparation Will Never Be the Same

Washington teachers will be far better prepared to reach those students who are most at risk
to fail or drop out of school, thanks to a new program being started by Washington State
University. WSU has received a multi-million dollar federal grant to fund a statewide effort to
reform teacher preparation.
Details of the major new initiative will be announced at 10 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 11, in Cleveland Hall, Room 160A on the WSU Pullman campus.
An announcement is also scheduled Monday at Tacoma’s Henry Foss High School. The
Tacoma School District is a partner in the new program.
