Secretary of Agriculture to Hold Town Hall Meeting in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman has announced that he will hold a town hall meeting on trade and agriculture, 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Agricultural Trade Center in Spokane.

The meeting, presented by Washington State University and the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce, is in preparation for the 1999 World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference to be held in Seattle, Nov. 29-Dec. 3, 1999.

The meeting provides an opportunity for public input on agriculture, natural resources, business, environment, labor and education issues that will be addressed at the WTO conference. It is open to the public, but seating is limited. Attendees must RSVP to 509/358-7550 or wto@wsu.edu.
