PULLMAN, Wash.—Washington State University undergraduates can submit abstracts now through Feb. 20 to present posters on March 30 at Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2020.

The online form for students to submit abstracts and details about the event are available on the SURCA website.

“SURCA 2020 gives students from every major, campus, and year the chance to share the results of their efforts with a mentor that made original intellectual or creative contributions in their field,” said Shelley Pressley, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. It is part of the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Achievement in the provost’s office.

“This is the ninth annual SURCA, and we will again feature the work of around 200 students who will make presentations, and be judged, in any of eight categories. Awards are made to top presenters in each category, ranging from novice to experienced researchers.”

Pressley also noted that the online form for judges is also open. Faculty members and post-doctoral students are needed for the March 30 event.

SURCA is part of WSU Showcase Week. Showcase is a WSU tradition, featuring several events throughout the week, including a poster session featuring research by faculty, staff, and graduate students. SURCA is the event for undergraduates.
