The university community is invited two events on Tuesday, April 30 to honor outgoing provost Dan Bernardo and his contributions to the University during the 14 years he served in a variety of leadership positions.
Bernardo will step down as provost this summer and assume a part‑time position as special advisor to WSU President Kirk Schulz. Bernardo has served as faculty member, director, dean, provost, and interim president during his WSU tenure. He earned his Ph.D. in agricultural economics from WSU in 1985.

The unveiling of a newly updated plaque at the site containing the names of WSU’s former presidents—now including Bernardo’s name—will highlight the event. He served as WSU’s interim president during the 2015‑2016 academic year.

President Kirk Schulz and First Lady Noel Schulz will host a community reception honoring Bernardo. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to stop by the museum to extend best wishes.
