WSU President Kirk Schulz has authorized the use of three hours of work time for all university employees to attend the upcoming State of the University Address and the Academic Showcase and Graduate and Professional Student Association Exposition next week.
The events take place March 26 and 28 on the Pullman campus and are designed to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the WSU community in advancing scholarship, research, and the arts.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to schedule their attendance at one or both events with a supervisor to avoid disrupting university operations and so everyone may take advantage of the opportunity to participate. Faculty are welcome to encourage their students to attend an event in lieu of class if they believe the students might benefit from attending.
Tuesday, March 26, 3:10 p.m.
Bryan Hall Theatre
Schulz will highlight the university’s 2018 accomplishments and engage in a fireside‑style chat with WSU Vancouver faculty member Donna Paul about the initiatives positioning WSU to become the model land‑grant university of the future. He also will take questions from the audience. Those planning to attend are encouraged to register.
Thursday, March 28, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
M.G. Carey Senior Ballroom, Compton Union Building
The Academic Showcase & GPSA Exposition is a poster session that lets faculty, staff and students share their original research, scholarship or creative work.
