Local entrepreneurs will discuss their real-life experiences, from challenges to successes, and how they brought their innovative visions to life at WSU Vancouver’s first Entrepreneurship Quick Talks. The event will take place on the WSU Vancouver campus from 3 – 4 p.m. March 7 in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 129.
Pete Riedel, president of Reliable Emergency Shelters, will showcase his RescuePod Tsunami Survival Shelter, a buoyant shelter aimed at helping those living in natural-disaster-prone areas. Riedel will discuss the inspiration behind his venture and how he refined his idea to make it viable.
Doug Steck, former business owner who is now an instructor in the Carson College of Business, will discuss the courses currently offered in the entrepreneurship major and highlight how these courses can benefit students outside the business college.
Jeff Waters, founder of Valhalla Modern Gladiator League, will discuss the entrepreneurial path he took to bring his medieval combat fighting league to life. Waters will focus on how he funded his startup and kept it moving forward.
The event aims to showcase WSU Vancouver’s Carson College of Business major in entrepreneurship. Faculty and staff will be on hand for those interested in learning more about the major. The event is free and open to all. Register online here.
