Several workshops focusing on universal design for accessibility are scheduled for the week of Feb. 26. All will be held in Classroom Building, Room 214. Faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to attend.

“Hidden Disabilities” from 4 – 5 p.m. Feb. 27, with Michael Dunn, associate professor of special education and literacy. Learn and discuss different types of hidden disabilities and how to help these students manage academic tasks.

“Captioning YouTube Videos with Amara” from 10 – 11 a.m. Feb. 28, with Jessica McKee, academic technologist. Learn step-by-step instructions for captioning and subtitling YouTube videos for Universal Design or disability accommodations using Amara.

“Hidden Disabilities” from noon to 1 p.m. March 2, with Allison Chambers, staff psychologist. Increase knowledge and awareness of mental health disorders that commonly impact university students, the signs and symptoms to look for, and how to support individuals experiencing distress.
