WSU activities raise awareness of poverty Nov. 13-19

paw-2016-logoPULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s annual Poverty Awareness Week will include food and supplies drives, documentary showings, discussions, community service projects and more Nov. 13-19.

Highlights will be a poverty simulation at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at St. James Episcopal Church and screening of the documentary “Lost in the Crowd,” about LGBT homeless youth, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the CUB auditorium on campus.

In partnership with WSU departments, student groups and community organizations, the WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) invites students, staff, faculty and community members to help raise awareness about poverty during the week before Thanksgiving.
