Electric vehicle charging stations on WSU Pullman campus

PULLMAN, Wash. – Two electric vehicle charging stations have been installed on the campus of Washington State University in Pullman, making it possible for students, local residents and campus visitors to recharge their electric vehicles.

The ChargePoint EV charging stations are located in both the Smith Center (CUE) parking garage and the Terrell Library parking garage.  Use of the charging stations is included in the parking fee associated with parking in the parking garages.

The charging stations use dual-head technology, allowing two electric vehicles to charge at a given station at any time.

Both charging stations are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing electric vehicle users to recharge their vehicles at any time, including major holidays.  Users should expect availability of the charging stations to be limited during major university events, such as home football games and other major events which create high demand for parking.

Through the ChargePoint mobile application (which can be downloaded to a smartphone), users can locate where the nearest ChargePoint EV charging station to their current location.

“We are very excited to bring EV charging technology to the WSU Pullman campus and offer this service to our regular parking patrons and visitors to our campus, said Chris Boyan, assistant director, WSU Transportation Services.

Additional questions regarding the newly installed EV charging stations should be directed to WSU Transportation Services at 509-335-PARK (7275).
